May 30, 2023- Tonight, JABC proudly hosted the 17th annual Business Laureates of BC Hall of Fame Gala Dinner and Induction Ceremonies at the Vancouver Convention Centre West—home to the Hall of Fame itself.

With over 770 attendees, the evening was elevated by the presence of guest speaker Geordie Rose,
Founder and CEO of Sanctuary AI , who passionately shared his perspective on Artificial Intelligence and our future. The event kicked off with an energetic territory welcome by Deborah Baker of the Squamish Nation and also included presentations by JABC student scholarship and award winners.

The 2023 Laureates inducted and honoured at the event were:

  • John Anderson, Chairman, CEO and Managing Partner of The Oppenheimer Group

  • Nancy Stibbard, Owner and CEO of Capilano Suspension Bridge Park and Capilano Group

  • Peter B. Gustavson, FCPA, FCA , Founder, CEO of Gustavson Capital Corporation

  • Asa Johal, O.C., O.B.C. (1922-2021) President and CEO of Terminal Forest Products (his wife Kashmir Kaur Johal is pictured above)

The induction ceremonies were performed by 2023 Hall of Fame Co-chairs, Fred Withers and Janet Wood.
