Brian Hill is a Canadian entrepreneur and the founder of Aritzia. He opened the first Aritzia store in Vancouver in 1984 alongside his brother and father. Since then, Brian has grown Aritzia into a world-renowned retailer, providing 60,000 current and former employees with rewarding careers. Aritzia’s global eCommerce platform and 110+ boutiques across North America boast a market capitalization of $3 billion, with sales exceeding $2 billion annually. As an accomplished Operational Specialist, Merchant, Creative Director and Corporate Strategist, Brian has shaped the business with his vision and expertise, driving Aritzia’s growth year after year.

Brian has received numerous awards for his leadership excellence in the retail business. In November 2022, he was awarded the Fraser Institute Founders’ Award for recognition of exceptional entrepreneurial achievements, generous philanthropic endeavours and dedication to competitive markets. In 2012, Retail Council of Canada honoured Brian with the Distinguished Retailer of the Year award. In 2008, he was named Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year for the Pacific Region. Brian has a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Economics from Queen’s University.
