Dave Lede is currently Chairman and CEO of the Ledcor Group of Companies. From 1980 to 1985 he held the title of President and General Manager and, prior to that, held many positions while rising through the ranks of his family’s company.
Early in his executive role Mr. Lede coined and instituted Ledcor’s safety hallmark “Think Safety, Work Safely,” creating an industry-leading safety culture that has won numerous national safety awards.
During his tenure, he has continued to broaden Ledcor’s business base and expand its operations, making Ledcor one of the largest and most diversified construction and industrial operating companies in Canada. In the last decade, Ledcor has grown multiple construction divisions and established operations in aviation, forestry, marine services, and environmental sustainability.
Under his management, Ledcor has been named one of Canada’s Top 10 Companies to Work for (2011, 2012, 2013) and one of Canada’s Top Employers (2011, 2012, 2013).
Mr. Lede believes strongly in giving back to the communities where Ledcor employees reside and do business through the Dave Lede Family Charitable Foundation. A recent major gift recipient is the Dave Lede Campus of Care, a three-building site in Abbotsford and home to the new Canuck Place Children’s Hospice, Abbotsford Hospice Society and Matthew’s House.
He holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Alberta, as well as two years of post-graduate studies in Engineering, also from the U of A. In 2014, he received an Honorary Doctor of Laws degree from the same institution.
