Owner and CEO of the Capilano Group
Nancy Stibbard is the Owner and CEO of the Capilano Group. The Capilano Group’s properties include Capilano Suspension Bridge Park in North Vancouver, Stanley Park Pavilion, Stanley’s Bar & Grill, Prospect Point Bar & Grill and Trading Post in Stanley Park, Vancouver as well as Moraine Lake Lodge, Moraine Lake Trading and Cathedral Mountain Lodge in the Canadian Rockies.
With a degree in psychology and a master’s in social work, she purchased Capilano Suspension Bridge Park in 1983 and set about creating one of Canada’s premier visitor attractions. Since then, Capilano Suspension Bridge Park has expanded its offerings with award-winning experiences including Treetops Adventure, Canyon Lights, and Cliffwalk. Today, over a million visitors walk the bridge annually.
As her business grew and expanded into other provinces, her involvement in tourism also grew. She is a former board member of the Tourism Association of Canada and past chair of Destination Vancouver. She has worked with many industry associations in addition to helping lead the Convention Center Task Force that was instrumental in acquiring the 2010 Olympics. Nancy was inducted into Canada’s Tourism Hall of Fame in 2007 and received the Tourism Industry Association of Canada’s Lifetime Achievement Award in 2018.
Since 2007, Nancy and the Capilano Suspension Bridge Park have been major supporters of the BC Professional Fire Fighters’ Burn Fund.
